Sarah Koch is a member of the Dispute Resolution practice group and advises national and international companies as well as financial institutions in complex disputes in and out of court in all areas of commercial law. She specialises in real estate and financial disputes as well as in post-M&A proceedings.
Sarah Koch has many years of experience in advising and representing national and international companies in complex legal disputes. She is a member of the Real Estate Litigation Skills Group and the Insolvency Disputes Skills Group.

- Representing several foreign financial investors in the enforcement of a securitised loan in the amount of EUR 300 million: successful advice and representation of the lenders and the land charge creditor in six complex disputes with the borrower and its supporting parties - including an action for repayment of the loan and defence against several enforcement remedies brought by the borrower;
- Advising and representing a listed property company in a claim for damages and subsequent enforcement proceedings with the purchaser of several properties due to defects in the existing real estate;
- Advising an international property investment company on the resolution of a post-M&A conflict in a joint venture for the operation of various property companies;
- Representing a leading German real estate company in litigation with several bondholders;
- Representing an international logistics group following the acquisition of a foreign company in a complex DIS arbitration concerning the value of an infrastructure project under construction at the time (amount in dispute: €150 million);
- Advising and representing a global manufacturer of home appliances in a multi-jurisdictional post-M&A dispute arising out of the insolvency of a commercial customer.
- Advising and representing a global private equity firm in a post-M&A dispute concerning rights and obligations under a vendor loan (Amount in dispute: €30 million).

Sarah studied law at the University of Münster. She completed her legal traineeship at the Oberlandesgericht Düsseldorf, which included internships at several international law firms. She joined Freshfields as a lawyer in 2013.
Sarah speaks German and English.
