Freshfields Partner duo receive Talent Management Recognition from Women, Influence and Power in Law Awards
Freshfields is delighted to announce that partners Andrea Merediz Basham and Meghan Rissmiller have been recognized in the Talent Management category of Corporate Counsel’s 2024 Women, Influence and Power in Law Awards. The Talent Management award honors women who focus on building a firm culture and leading initiatives to help grow and retain diverse talent.
Andrea, a New York-based M&A partner and U.S. recruiting chair, has led significant growth in the firm’s summer associate program across headcount, training, social opportunities and substantive work experience. She views attracting diverse talent and ensuring access to the firm’s top-tier training and mentorship opportunities for all lawyers as critically important to the firm’s continued growth.
“The firm has experienced a rapid growth in the US in the last few years and we have worked to make sure we have complementary recruiting and talent management initiatives in order to best handle that growth,” Andrea shared.
Meghan, a Washington DC-based antitrust partner and partner lead for associate talent development, is responsible for U.S. associate talent development and strategy, including building a U.S. Talent Development Committee from the ground up. With the Committee, Meghan aims to develop a consistent and enriching U.S. Freshfields associate experience across mentoring, feedback, learning and development, career progression and planning, and benefits.
“We want to ensure our associates are getting the absolute most out of their Freshfields experience or wherever their careers take them,” Meghan noted.
Meghan and Andrea will be recognized at an awards dinner on Sept. 24 as part of the Women, Influence & Power in Law Conference in Chicago.
