Meet our Global Sanctions and Trade Group
We are delighted to invite you to a roundtable on the recent developments in global sanctions and the key questions to consider when thinking about your transaction strategy and compliance culture in the context of the international sanctions framework.
As you know, economic sanctions are among the top choice of foreign policy response tools in the EU and the US and are increasingly imposed on countries and stakeholders whose actions conflict with international law or foreign policy goals. This has a direct impact on the daily business of major multinational corporates, financial institutions and investors. Take the recent examples of sanctions and export control measures against Chinese telecommunication company Huawei, against Iran or against major Russian and Venezuelan energy companies, all of which have had significant impact on businesses operating in those regions. This increasing imposition of financial sanctioning means that businesses need to continuously review and revise their transaction strategies and compliance culture.
Throughout this session experts from our global sanctions and trade team Stephanie Brown Cripps, Stephan Denk and Lukas Bauer will be sharing with you the recent trends in this area, developments on the different sanctions measures and the legal EU/ US sanctions framework impacting your transaction strategy and compliance culture.
We thought this topic might be of interest to you and we would be delighted if you, or any member of your team, could join us. Our experts will also be available to discuss confidentially any sensitive questions you may have, either after the session or in a separate meeting.
